This is an original design that Rip was first commissioned to do for a retiring PTA President. The wood in this particular bowl is outstanding for this shape as both shape and wood show to their best advantage. (Curly maple is a rare and much desired wood; we like to get it with lots of figuring and color as it shows so well in the three-dimensional bowls.)
Naturally, this bowl is still fully functional and can be used for hot as well as cold foods.
